Tallow and Beeswax Candles
I have added a new line to my soap company products. These candles are also made with natural farm based ingredients. Tallow has been used by common folks for candles and lighting for hundreds of years, standing the test of time. It is a by-product of beef that can be rendered. Tallow was readily available to most everyone and it has a high melting point that allows it to burn clean and a long time. Beeswax also has great candle making qualities. Combining tallow and beeswax results in a nice, clean burning candle base that can be fragranced with quality fragrance oils and essential oil blends. The resulting candle is natural, and uses simple ingredients available from our farm and local beehives.
IMPORTANT
Use proper care when burning candles. Beautiful wood dough bowls are flammable. They have been treated with a fire retardant to help protect them, but they are wood and extra caution should be taken. All candles, tin, glass and especially wood, have the potential to break or crack from heat and leak hot wax. Always place your candle on a protective, fire resistant object such as a plate or other container to protect your surface from fire or damage. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch often, this will reduce he fire hazard and incease the life of your candle. Burn candles on a level surface, out of drafts and vibrations. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
